This course is an introduction to the French language. You are neither expected nor required to have any previous knowledge of French, but you may be surprised about how much you already know! The primary focus of this course will be to learn French through comprehensible input that focuses on hearing, telling, and writing stories. In addition to language acquisition, the class will focus on cultural knowledge and appreciation of the French-speaking world through stories, music, film, television, art and other media.

Units will often focus on reading and responding to stories, graphic novels, or novellas of an appropriate level.

Successful completion of this course will enable students to take French 11 in the future.
