This introductory course to bookkeeping includes the study of financial records for both personal and business application from beginning balance sheet through to period ending financial statements.  Students complete many accounting steps using Excel.  Business simulations are both written and completed through the Sage 50 Accounting software program.  Upon completion, students are able to analyze and maintain accounting records for a small service company using Simply Accounting.  In addition, students will have an opportunity to learn the basics of preparing personal tax returns for a variety of taxpayers.  Featured project:  Students will keep financial records as they play Monopoly.
