Jazz Band is open to students who are regular members of the Concert Band or by the band director’s approval. Being part of the band means committing to regular rehearsals and exciting extra-curricular performances. Students will explore and perform in a range of styles, including swing, Latin, blues, funk, R&B, and rock. A key focus will be improvisation, with the chance for students to pick up a secondary instrument if they play a non-traditional Jazz Band instrument. Plus, there’s the opportunity to join our Jazz Combo group, where students can really take their improvisation skills to the next level! 🎷🎶
