This course is an introduction to the Spanish language. You are neither expected nor required to have any previous knowledge of Spanish, but you may be surprised about how much you already know! The primary focus of this course will be to learn Spanish through comprehensible input that focuses on hearing, telling, and writing stories. In addition to language acquisition, the class will focus on cultural knowledge and appreciation of the Spanish speaking world through stories, music, film, television, art and other media.

Units will often focus on reading and responding to stories, graphic novels, or novellas of an appropriate level.

Successful completion of this course will enable students to take Spanish 11 in the future.
