Lambrick Park Secondary School offers Jazz Band outside the timetable. At the moment, we rehearse twice a week, once before school and once at lunch. Jazz Band will be open to those students who are regular members of the Concert Band or at the discretion of the band director. Participation in the band includes all regular rehearsals as well as scheduled extra-curricular performances. Students will study and perform in the styles of swing, Latin, blues, funk, R&B, and rock. There will be an emphasis on improvisation and students with non-traditional Jazz Band instruments will have the opportunity to learn a secondary instrument. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in our Jazz Combo group where they can push their improvisation skills further.
